Consigned by Stephen Screnci, KATE’S KINGDOM was sold as a racing/broodmare prospect to Ready Made Racing for $400,000.
Living up to her new ownership group’s name, ready-made racehorse KATE’S KINGDOM went on to win the My Charmer S. at Turfway Park on December 11, 2022 for trainer Will Walden and the Ready Made Racing team, defeating stakes winners GRAND AVE GIRL, CANDY RAID, HEAVENLY HELLOS, and BURNING AMBITION. As the favorite in the My Charmer S., KATE’S KINGDOM explosively rallied down the stretch to score her third stakes win of the year, and first stakes win for her new trainer Will Walden.
She also took second in the Wintergreen S. at Turfway Park on February 25, 2023, beating Grade 3 winner BURGOO ALLEY (IRE), stakes winners OPENING BUZZ, CANDY RAID, and BELLA CONCHITA, G3-placed PURRFECT, and stakes placed CHARGES DROPPED and TAP DANCING LADY. On March 25, 2023, KATE’S KINGDOM ran another second in the Latonia S., also at Turfway Park, beaten only by eventual Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winner IDIOMATIC while defeating Grade 3 winner IL MALOCCHIO, Grade 1 placed BELLAMORE, Grade 3 placed PURRFECT, and stakes winners GRAND AVE GIRL and CANDY RAID.
